Nick Dupree

For the girls that just never fit in; I feel your feels. Inspired by a real life girl who later experimented, was one of the more gutsy, rad people in our odd little community, and even later became a nun. Love, always.

The girl in the corner

The girl in the corner
leaned against the cold wall
as warmth, life and chaos danced beside her
to the thumping music
the girl in the corner didn't move

The girl
dark eyes filled with hurt,
before a cascade of dark hair
The girl in the corner looked on
but not at me

The girl
in the corner of
her heart
vibrated
but was a quiet island in the waves
the girl in the corner didn't speak

The girl in the corner
of her life
her pain was felt, only feet away
by one who knew it well
the girl in the corner didn't know
she wasn't in a corner at all
